End of an era, but start of a new one.

I haven't updated in a while because gardening has taken a back seat for a while. As I mentioned I became pregnant in January 2013 and gardening even using raised beds was been impossible with a bump, I just couldn't fold myself up enough and my walkways were a bit too small for earth mother squatting manoeuvres! My daughter was born in September and is by far the best thing I have ever grown! ❤️ I've had help from my dad today and things are getting back on track...so more veg news soon.

I am sad, so very sad to say my beautiful two Greyhounds Amy and Bobbie have died. Both lived into their 14th year, I am so sad they are no longer here, rest in peace Unsung Hero and Lakers Amy, much missed furry friends x

Pumpkins and more jam!

Remember those little pumpkins growing in my garden? My how they've grown! They store wonderfully in a cold room. Today's furry model is Bobbie, he contemplated eating the pumpkins (after an experimental nibble of the stalk) but settled for posing instead (it's really any excuse with him).

With one of the pumpkins I made gluten free Pumpkin Pie to take to Nath's mom's for his sisters Birthday dinner. That only took a little bit of it, so with the rest I made Pumpkin Jam! You can find the recipe I used here, I tripled all the ingredients and I used Jam makers sugar and also added a sachet of pectin and sugar mix...it set...just. It tastes great! It actually made 4.5 jars, the part jar will be used to make experimental Pfeffernuesse.
